What do you understand by Copyright?

According to World Intellectual Property Organization, "Copyright is concerned with protecting work of the human intellect. The domain of copyright is the protection of literary and artistic works. These includes writing, music, works of the fine arts, such as paintings and sculptures, and technology based works such as computer programs and electronic databases".
The Berne Convention (1886), which is the oldest international convention governing copyright, states that "in Convention countries, all foreign owners of rights or authors from other Berne countries qualify for protection under the Convention without any formalities, so there's no need to make any registration".
